The State Archaeological Collection currently has eight branch museums throughout Bavaria, which are home to around 6,000 exhibits. The purpose is to present important exhibits from the region as close as possible to where they were found and at the same time to show how rich Bavaria is in archaeological "finds".
Local museums are particularly valuable for children and young people, as the objects on display illustrate the history of their immediate homeland. This makes it possible to illustrate special features of cultural-historical development in the local area. Please click on the respective location on the map!
